Oxalis Triangularis (Purple Shamrock)

 

Leaves are vivid purple color, clover shaped, that fold up at night and open when light returns.  Oxalis triangularis looks like a cluster of little purple butterflies that then open wide to the morning light. Not a climbing vine.

 

Growing Conditions

 

LightBright, filtered / indirect light.  Avoid direct sunlight and freezing temperature

Water:   Allow the top 1” of soil to dry out between watering

Humidity:  Moderate

Soil:   A very well-drained potting mix, including plenty of perlite, peat and organic matter.

Level of Care:  Easy, suitable for beginner

Toxic to pets:  Yes

 

Note: You will be getting this plant in bulbs only as their leaves are too fragile to post. There will be 2 bulbs in 1 pot. Once you receive your bulbs. Put them in moist soil, any way up is fine. Water when the top soil is dry. Do not over water. New growth will emerge after 2-3 weeks.  Additional care please refer to Plant Care.
